Harmonie Meisters' History

GroupPhoto Back in 1995, four Gaylord men walked out on the stage of the hit musical "The Music Man", sang the first chord, and Barbershop harmony was born in our town. The show became the nucleus of the Harmonie Meisters when 30 men in the audience said, "me to."

The popularity of the group is evident in the large number of events they are invited to perform in. This group of guys has sung in four Alpenfests, American Cancer Society functions, the Mackinaw City Music Festival, the Kirtland College "Warbler", the Gladwin Concert in the Park series and for many senior citizen and church functions, and many other noteworthy events.

Traveling from six counties, (Roscommon, Crawford, Otsego, Oscoda, Cheboygan and Emmet) they are dedicated to singing the true American art form of four part, accapella harmony called Barbershop Harmony. Ranging in age from 18 years to 86 years, the group is considered a service organization for their giving of harmony and music to the local community.
